Advanced Diagnostics for Fast, Accurate Pet Care in Miami-Dade County

A physical exam only tells part of the story. Sometimes we need a closer look to really understand what’s going on. Advanced diagnostics help fill in the gaps, giving us clearer answers, and helping us move forward with the right plan for your pet.

At Happy Tails Veterinary Care, we use a combination of in-house testing and imaging to better understand what’s going on and guide next steps with more clarity. Most of these tools are non-invasive, and can provide answers quickly, without putting your pet through unnecessary procedures.

In-House Lab Testing

Having an in-house lab allows our extraordinary veterinary team to get answers faster, often during the same visit. These tests give us a clearer picture of your pet’s health, and help us identify what might be causing their symptoms.

Common testing includes:

  • Bloodwork, including chemistry panels and complete blood counts (CBC)
  • Urinalysis
  • Fecal testing
  • Additional lab work as needed

Digital X-Rays

X-rays help us see what’s happening inside the body, especially when we’re evaluating bones, the chest, or the abdomen. They’re often among the first steps when we’re looking for injuries, foreign objects, or changes in organ size or shape. The process is quick and painless, and in many cases, results are available right away.

Ultrasound

Ultrasounds allow us to see soft tissues and organs in real time, providing a more detailed view of internal structures. It’s often used alongside X-rays, since the two complement each other and provide a more complete picture.

A Thoughtful Approach to Answers

Diagnostics aren’t about running every test—they’re about choosing the right ones. Our team considers the full picture, including your pet’s history, symptoms, and exam findings, to determine what will be most helpful.

When you’re worried about your pet, you deserve clarity—not guesswork. We’re here to help you understand what’s going on and what to do next.

When a Referral Makes Sense

If your pet needs more advanced imaging, such as an MRI or CT scan, we’ll guide you through the next steps and refer you to a trusted specialist, ensuring a seamless transition and consistent care every step of the way. We’ll also follow up with you to make sure everything stays on track.
